This week, we start a brand new Python class at the Douglas Makerspace, running between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. We’ve had a massive response to this new class and will be running 2 classes simultaneously to accommodate as many people who signed up as we can. For those in the class, if you can bring a laptop along, it will make things easier for you to take your work home and will leave our laptops free for those who need them. The classes are both full, but if you put your name down, we’ll let you know when we run a repeat. If you want to access our classes and be notified when new ones start, please follow these instructions to Join Our Dojo
We’re also continuing our Arduino class this Saturday between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. and on Wednesday between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. These classes had a great start last week and promise to be as successful as the one we ran last month. Again, check out Coderdojo if you want to learn more.
An advance reminder that we’ll be running an Introduction to OOP using Java in June, so if you’re interested in this, please sign up on our Dojo page. Keep in mind that the minimum age for this is 12, as some of the concepts will be harder for younger programmers.
And finally, the Twilight Tech group will be meeting on Wednesday at 8:00pm and discussing two topics this week. There will be more on machine learning, computer vision and face recognition which has been discussed in previous weeks. There will also be a small introduction to Django, a Python based Web framework that encourages rapid development and clean, prgamatic design. Hope you can join us!
